Applications and Suitable Workpieces

ZP2-B MT models are thin flat vacuum cups with a grooved contact surface. They are intended for automated handling where reducing deformation of thin material is important.

Recommended applications by model

  • ZP2-B...MTS — Silicone: thin metal sheets, plastic film, flexible packaging material, labels, paper and other clean, smooth, non-porous thin workpieces. Silicone is preferred when greater temperature flexibility or a cleaner contact material is required.
  • ZP2-B...MTN — Nitrile rubber: thin steel or aluminum sheets, plastic sheet, coated parts and general industrial workpieces on dry or lightly oily surfaces where wear resistance is useful.
  • H5, B5 and other mounting fittings: select the connection style to match the vacuum holder or machine interface; the fitting does not change the cup's workpiece suitability.

Selection notes

  • Best suited to flat, smooth and non-porous surfaces. The thin flat profile helps limit local deformation during suction.
  • Not recommended as the sole lifting element for heavy workpieces or workpieces that apply a large side load.
  • Very thin film can wrinkle depending on thickness and vacuum level; test the actual material before production use.
  • Holding force depends on cup diameter, vacuum level, surface finish, acceleration, mounting direction and safety factor.
