ZJ Compressed-Air Cabinet Coolers

A ZJ cabinet cooler uses compressed air and vortex separation to deliver a cold airflow into an enclosure while discharging the hot stream outside. It is used for localized cooling of electrical and control cabinets where a suitable compressed-air supply is available. No electrical power connection to the vortex cooler is described in the supplied material.

Select a Model

Choose one model per unit. Standard-family attributes describe stainless steel plus aluminum alloy; ZJ040SS is the separately named stainless option. The supplied data does not certify a stainless alloy grade, ingress rating, hazardous-area suitability or a complete cabinet cooling system. Photographs are family references and do not establish each model's scale or included connectors.

How the Cabinet Is Cooled

Filtered compressed air enters the cooler. The hot vortex stream exhausts outside, while the cold side is routed into the cabinet. The original illustration shows distribution tubing with outlets inside the enclosure and a route for warm cabinet air to escape. Keep the external hot-air outlet and the cabinet exhaust path unobstructed. The source names an air-distribution tube as the standard accessory; confirm length and fitting contents for the selected model.

Applications and Sizing

Typical applications shown are PLC, machine-tool, press-machine and other industrial control cabinets. Select from actual enclosure heat load, ambient temperature, required internal temperature, enclosure dimensions and the air pressure/flow available at the cooler. A cooling capacity alone does not establish the final cabinet temperature. Check compatibility with the installed electronics and any site requirements.

Supplier Reference Table

The table is supplied at 6.9 bar inlet pressure (0.69 MPa, approximately 100 psi). Cooling values use the source kcal/h unit; 1 kcal/h is approximately 1.163 W. Actual performance depends on supply and installed conditions. ZJ002 has a priced source row but no separate performance row in this table, so no capacity is inferred. The source table also lists stainless equivalents; only ZJ040SS is offered as a separately priced SS option here.

Mounting, Dimensions and Ports

The original family drawing gives small/medium/large reference lengths of 130 / 190 / 295 mm (5.118 / 7.480 / 11.614 in), and depicts PT1/8 / PT1/4 / PT3/8 air inlets respectively. Mounting references are M18 for small, M26x1.5 for medium and M32x1.5 for large. Keep the family drawing and selected model distinct; confirm length, mounting-hole dimensions, thread and supplied connectors before drilling. The cabinet illustration uses a 26 mm mounting hole (1.024 in) and 3 mm distribution-tube holes (0.118 in) as one reference arrangement.

PT designations are retained as supplied; verify compatibility with the site fittings rather than substituting NPT. Original numerical dimensions and lines remain visible in the drawing. Inch values are calculated references.

Installation and Adjustment

1. Confirm model, heat load, available air pressure/flow and the correct mounting drawing.
2. Prepare a suitable regulated, clean and dry air supply. Prevent condensate or contamination from entering the enclosure.
3. Mount the unit with the cold side directed into the cabinet and the hot exhaust outside.
4. Route the air-distribution tube away from obstructions and provide the required warm-air escape path.
5. Connect the matching fittings and test at a controlled setting. Check temperature and airflow on the actual equipment.
6. Confirm the adjustment mechanism on the supplied unit. Do not fully close an outlet. Isolate and depressurize before service.

Compressor, regulator/filter, electrical cabinet and the machinery shown are not specified as included.
