Applications and Suitable Workpieces
SAOF and SAOB are oval nitrile-rubber cups for dynamic handling of elongated sheet-metal workpieces. SAOF uses a flat oval profile for flat parts; SAOB uses a 1.5-fold bellows profile for formed, curved or height-varying parts.
Recommended applications by series
- SAOF flat oval models: long and narrow flat steel or aluminum parts, reinforcing ribs, profiles, narrow plates and flat stamped blanks.
- SAOB oval bellows models: elongated stamped panels, automotive body parts, curved or slightly uneven sheet metal, and workpieces requiring contour or height compensation.
- Both series: press-line feeders, punching-machine positioning, destacking, robotic transfer, and loading or unloading of metalworking equipment.
- NBR material: suitable for dry or oily metal surfaces where abrasion resistance and stable lateral positioning are important.
Size and fitting notes
- Choose the oval dimensions according to the available sealing area, workpiece width and required holding force.
- Use SAOF on flat surfaces; use SAOB when the workpiece is curved, formed or varies in height.
- Select G1/8, G1/4, G3/8 or the listed adapter style to match the holder and vacuum line.
- Perforations, sharp edges, heavy rust or scale, deep curvature and interrupted sealing paths can cause leakage. Confirm performance on the actual part with an appropriate safety factor.
