SAF Nitrile Rubber Vacuum Suction Cups and Anti-Rotation Fittings

Round, single-layer NBR vacuum cups for handling smooth sheet-metal and automotive workpieces. Choose the cup and mounting configuration that matches the sealing area and machine interface. Matching thread adapters and FSTE spring-loaded anti-rotation fittings are also available as separate options.

What the selected option includes

• SAF cup options (22): cup configurations identified by size and connection. Most supplied cup photographs are blue; SAF30N-G1/4-IG is the specifically listed black option.
• Thread adapters (5): fitting-only options, not complete suction cups.
• FSTE options (6): spring-loaded anti-rotation fittings, not complete suction cup assemblies.
• Family photographs show the available range, not a bundled set. Use the selected model title and its corresponding gallery photograph to identify the ordered configuration.

Size reference: millimeters and inches

The size code is a nominal family designation, not an exact diameter guarantee. The second diameter column reproduces the supplied family reference table. Individual configuration drawings can differ and take precedence; for example, the family table gives 31 mm for size 30, while the SAF30-G1/4-IG drawing labels 32 mm (1.260 in). Confirm the required dimensions before ordering for a close-fit application.

1 in = 25.4 mm. Inch equivalents are rounded to three decimal places.

Mounting and thread selection

• IG: female thread. AG: male thread.
• G1/8, G1/4 and G3/8: G-series pipe-thread designations; the fraction is not the measured outside thread diameter. Match the specified thread standard and gender.
• M10 × 1.5: nominal diameter 10 mm (0.394 in), pitch 1.5 mm (0.059 in). M14 × 1.5: nominal diameter 14 mm (0.551 in), pitch 1.5 mm (0.059 in). These are metric-thread designations.
• Adapter compatibility is stated in each option name (SAF30/40 or SAF50–125). Do not substitute by cup size alone.
• FSTE configurations retain their 25 / 50 / 75 model designations; consult the selected fitting drawing for exact stroke and overall dimensions.

Material and workpiece guidance

The supplied cup material is nitrile rubber (NBR), intended for applications where oil and abrasion resistance are important. Its structured underside supports the sealing area and is intended to resist lateral movement on suitable sheet-metal surfaces. Other materials or custom configurations require confirmation; no food-contact, ESD, temperature or load certification is implied for every option.

Applications and suitable workpieces

• Thin steel sheets, aluminum sheets, smooth stamped panels and general flat metal parts.
• Automotive press-line feeding, punching-machine positioning, destacking, transfer presses and robotic loading or unloading.
• Dry or lightly oily sheet-metal workpieces needing stable positioning.
• Slightly curved panels only where the lip can form a complete, continuous seal.

Holding-force and setup checks

Use a continuous, non-porous sealing path. Check available sealing area, workpiece mass, acceleration, orientation and vacuum level. Normal holding force acts perpendicular to the sealing surface; shear resistance acts parallel to it and depends on contact conditions. Verify performance on the actual dry or oily workpiece before production and apply the machine safety requirements. The supplied vacuum-generator pressure/flow table is not a SAF cup load rating.
