Applications and Suitable Workpieces

SAF is a robust round nitrile-rubber flat suction cup for fast, repeatable handling of smooth sheet-metal and automotive workpieces. Its structured support and sealing geometry are intended to resist lateral movement, including on lightly oily surfaces.

Recommended applications

  • Thin steel sheets, aluminum sheets, smooth stamped panels and general flat metal parts.
  • Automotive press-line feeders, punching-machine positioning, destacking, transfer presses and robotic loading or unloading.
  • Dry or oily sheet-metal workpieces requiring short cycle times and stable positioning.
  • Slightly curved panels where the flexible sealing lip can still form a complete seal.

Model and fitting notes

  • SAF cup size: choose the diameter according to the available sealing area, workpiece mass and dynamic load.
  • SAF30N and other NBR models: suitable where oil resistance and abrasion resistance are more important than high-temperature capability.
  • FSTE anti-rotation and threaded fittings: recommended where cup orientation and repeatable positioning must be maintained; select the thread to match the machine interface.
  • Use only on surfaces with a continuous, non-porous sealing path. Verify holding force on the actual dry or oily workpiece before production.
