Hard Plastic Bearing Wheels — BS Series

These plain-bore guide wheels combine an internal rolling bearing with a hard plastic running surface. The standard family is described as POM (acetal); the grey BS600165-12 option is identified as nylon. Choose by the complete model and actual bore, outer diameter and tread width, rather than by appearance alone.

What the wheels are used for

Typical uses include conveyor guides, transfer mechanisms, sliding guides and compatible automation fixtures. The supplied application photographs show examples of machinery layouts in which this type of bearing wheel is used. A complete machine, axle or bracket is not included.

Understanding the dimensions

  • The option label follows bore x outer diameter x wheel width, in millimetres.
  • Type A: the bearing width equals the wheel tread width.
  • Type B: the hard-plastic tread is wider than the internal bearing.
  • The actual bearing diameter and bearing width are also shown in the individual section drawing.
  • Metric dimensions govern; inch values are rounded conversions. Use metric values when choosing a mating shaft.

Materials, colours and bearing arrangements

White and selected black POM versions are offered, together with the specifically labelled grey nylon option. A metal shield or rubber seal follows the selected model sheet. Only the model explicitly labelled stainless uses that bearing description; no exact stainless grade is supplied. Dual-bearing models are identified separately in the option name. Similar external sizes can contain different bearing codes and should not be treated as interchangeable without checking the section drawing.

Installation and selection

  1. Check the available shaft diameter, outer clearance, tread width and required bearing arrangement.
  2. Mount the bearing on a suitable axle without squeezing the rotating plastic tread or allowing the wheel to rub against a bracket.
  3. Keep the wheel aligned with the intended contact surface. Check free rotation and axial clearance before running the mechanism.
  4. Select the allowable load, speed and environmental requirements for the actual installation. The source collection does not provide model-specific load or speed ratings, dimensional tolerances or temperature limits.
