Custom Gear Manufacturing Details
This made-to-order service covers non-standard spur gears, helical gears, worm gears and worm shafts for prototypes, replacement parts and repeat production. Parts are manufactured to the approved drawing, sample or written technical specification rather than supplied as a generic stock gear.
Gear features we can review
- Module or diametral pitch, tooth count, pressure angle, helix angle and rotation direction.
- Outside diameter, pitch diameter, face width, bore, hub, keyway, spline, set-screw holes and other mounting details.
- Center distance, backlash, contact pattern, load, speed and operating environment where these affect the design.
- Steel, stainless steel, brass, bronze and engineering plastics, with heat treatment or surface finish when specified.
Recommended information for quotation
Please send a PDF drawing and, when available, a STEP/DWG/DXF file. Include gear type, dimensions, material, quantity, critical tolerances, heat treatment, surface finish and application details. For a replacement gear, clear photos and an undamaged sample can help our engineering review.
Production and quality workflow
- Drawing, sample and application review.
- Manufacturing feasibility, material and quotation confirmation.
- Drawing approval and prototype or first-article production when required.
- Gear cutting or machining, secondary operations, finishing and cleaning.
- Inspection against the approved drawing, followed by protective packing and shipment.
Custom-order note: Final price and lead time depend on geometry, material, tolerance, quantity and finishing requirements. Product images show representative manufacturing capabilities; the delivered part will follow the approved drawing and written quotation.
